Currently, as the author of more than a half dozen different Edgar Rice Burroughs online comic strips, it is probable that Powell has written more Edgar Rice Burroughs characters than any other contemporary writer. His The Tall Tale of Paul Bunyan won the coveted Moonbeam Golden Award for Best Children's Graphic Novel of 2010. Powell lives in St. Paul, Minnesota.
