It’s officially here! In a blog post, George R.R. Martin revealed a gorgeous revamp of A Game of Thrones, including classic mass market editions of A Clash of Kings, A Storm of Swords, A Feast for Crows, and A Dance with Dragons.
The books inside the box have brand new covers. The mass market and trade paperback boxed sets will be the only place to get the new covers until Spring 2025, when the individual book ISBNs will also be reissued/repackaged with the new art. Going forward, this will be the new series look; hardcovers will retain the classic covers. The slipcase of this 2024 boxed set features a classic design that will remain perennial. This same-ISBN reissue/repackage replaces the 2013 edition, which featured MTI art on the box.
The mass market 5-book boxed set (9780345535528) and trade paperback 5-book boxed set (9780345535566) are getting the same repackage, with the same on-sale date.
