The PEN/Faulkner Award for Fiction is a prestigious award honoring the best published works of fiction penned by an American author within the calendar year. Every year, three writers are chosen by the PEN/Faulkner Foundation Board of Directors, free from commercial influence. The judges this year include Christopher Bollen, R.O. Kwon, and Tiphanie Yanique. The initlal list starts with ten books, then five, and finally narrowed down to one winner, granting the winner a $15,000 prize.
