Amber's life has been full of changes lately. First her best friend Justin moved and she became best friends with Brandi. Then she had to deal with her parents' divorce and her dad's move to France. She's even getting used to her mom's boyfriend, Max.
Now the only change that she wants is to redo her bedroom. But then Max asks Amber's mom to marry him.
If she says yes, they might have to move. But if she says no, then Max may leave. Amber's mom is confused—and so is Amber! Can?t things just stay the same for once?

And the next minute, I'm on a plane on my way to Alabama where I'm going to see my old best friend, Justin Daniels.
I can't believe that the woman sitting next to me is my very own mother.
She looks like my mother.
She sounds like my mother.
I wonder if all mothers get this weird when someone asks them to marry him.
Paula Danziger grew up wanting to be an author . . . and then she became one. She wrote over 25 books, traveled to more than 15 countries, and was the kind of colorful character you might find in one of her books. She loved to play, make new friends, and wear purple clothes and nail polish. Sadly, Paula Danziger passed away on July 8, 2004. Amber Brown—and the rest of her book characters—will continue to live on.
