On July 1, 2020, Penguin Random House Publisher Services (PRHPS) will begin a multi-year sales and distribution agreement with the MIT Press, one of the largest and most distinguished university presses in the world.

Established in 1962, the MIT Press is a leading publisher of books on science, technology, art, social science, and design. The Press publishes over 300 new titles a year, and has a deep backlist that includes such luminary authors as Noam Chomsky, John Maeda, Vaclav Smil, and Sherry Turkle, in addition to its distribution of several renowned presses, such as Semiotext(e) and Zone Books.

Amy Brand, Director of the MIT Press, said, “In Penguin Random House Publisher Services, we have found a robust, and globally knowledgeable partner to support our mission to bring the transformative work of our authors and the presses we distribute to the broadest possible audience. With an expanding trade program across a range of disciplines, we welcome the opportunity to introduce more readers to the intellectual daring, interdisciplinary focus, and distinctive design that are the hallmarks of our publishing program.”

Jeff Abraham, President of Penguin Random House Publisher Services, said, “We see this as a groundbreaking partnership that brings together one of the most prestigious and influential university presses with trade-publishing’s standard-setting supply chain and Penguin Random House sales force. This is an exciting opportunity for us both, and we are delighted to welcome the MIT Press to our distinguished list of publishers with whom we are privileged collaborators.”
